Year 9 GCSE Subject Choices Evening will take place at the upper school on Thursday 5 February 2026 between 6.30pm and 8.30pm.
Mr Thompson and Mr Stabler will give presentations at 6.30pm, 7.15pm and 8.00pm outlining the GCSE options choices process and give a general overview of the Key Stage 4 curriculum. Tickets will be required for the presentations Please note that everyone attending, including your child, will need a ticket. These can be booked through Eventbrite via the links below:

During the evening, you will also have the opportunity to visit individual department areas and chat to staff regarding their subjects. If you book for the second talk, we recommend that you do visit some of the departments from 6.30pm onwards as there may be insufficient time to see all of the course offerings after the talk. If you book for the final talk at 8.00pm, you will need to arrive early and visit the departments prior to attending the talk. The evening will finish upon completion of the final talk and there will be no further opportunity to look around school after 8.30pm.
Please note there is no car parking on site. The nearest available public car park is on Nunnery Lane or there may be on-street parking available on Albemarle Road or Scarcroft Road.

All students will study English, Mathematics, Religious Education and Science at GCSE and will then be able to make three additional choices. At least one of these choices will need to be from the EBacc subject offer which comprises French, German, Spanish, History, Geography and Computer Science.
In addition all students will have lessons in Core PE and PSHE which are non examined courses.
