How is PSHCE a sacred subject?

PSHCE serves students in becoming thoughtful, well-informed and ethical citizens. PSHCE enables all learners to experience the design and wonder of God’s world and to develop an awareness of their place in it. PSHCE enables our students to acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills to manage their lives, both now and in the future. Students develop the qualities and attributes required for them to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society who become activists for change.

At All Saints RC school all our students have a one-hour lesson of Personal Development delivered every two weeks, in addition to this, across the year we have Personal Development Days. 

PSHCE education gives pupils the knowledge, skills, and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe and to prepare them for life and work in modern Britain. Personal, Social, Health, Citizenship and Enterprise (PSHCE) education is a school subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage their lives, now and in the future. PSHCE education helps pupils to achieve their academic potential, and leave school equipped with skills they will need throughout later life.

PSHCE education helps pupils to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to thrive as individuals, family members and members of society. From making responsible decisions about alcohol to succeeding in their first job, PSHCE education helps pupils to manage many of the most critical opportunities, challenges and responsibilities they will face growing up.

PSHCE education also helps pupils to develop skills and aptitudes – like teamwork, communication, and resilience – that are crucial to navigating the challenges and opportunities of the modern world, and are increasingly valued by employers.
